This is "Ma," our Nepali cook and caretaker here at the Koinonia Mercy Home. Despite her limited English and our limited Nepali, we have developed a great rapport with Ma. We love that she watches over us at mealtimes and makes sure we are eating enough...when she randomly repeats words that we say even if she doesn't know what we are saying...and when she tells us we aren't washing our clothes correctly, showing us with her hands how to truly scrub our shirts. Ma also watches over the 10 orphans here and helps to run this home smoothly -- including the cooking, cleaning, and laundry. We love Ma and we don't know what our time in Nepal would be like without her!!
